On Friday October 26, over 150 Parents, Guardians and other family members of the students of St Teresa’s School participated in Mathematics activities throughout the school. This event was the concluding activity of a very successful week that focused on the theme: Making Connections between Home and School.
During the week students engaged in cross curriculum activities, linking literature with mathematics and solving problems that were linked to everyday situations. Each student created a ‘Pumpkin Pi’ Glyph that represented information about themselves, and these were displayed in the school entrance.
This week was supported by funding from the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education’s Excellence in Mathematics Strategy.
